Description
This is a standard United States military issue steel ammunition storage container, finished in olive drab green. The front of the can features white stenciled nomenclature indicating it was originally utilized for the transport and storage of eight M557 Point Detonating (PD) fuses. These fuses were standard components for US artillery projectiles, including 105mm and 155mm rounds. The stenciling includes the Department of Defense Identification Code (DODIC) N335, Lot number MA-37-1, and a packing date of March 1975 (LOADED 3-75). The container is constructed of heavy-gauge steel with a side-hinged lid secured by a heavy-duty tension latch. It features a collapsible metal carrying handle on the top and a rubber gasket designed to provide an airtight and watertight seal for the protection of ordnance.

Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition, exhibiting authentic signs of field use. The exterior shows surface scuffs, scratches, and minor areas of paint loss throughout the body and lid. Small spots of surface oxidation are present, primarily concentrated along the edges, hinges, and latch mechanism. A shallow dent is visible on the right-side flange of the lid. The stenciled markings remain crisp and highly legible. The container appears structurally sound with no significant corrosion or holes.
