Description
This lot features a collection of 200 rounds of mixed .38 Special ammunition accompanied by three original Winchester factory boxes. The ammunition consists of a variety of bullet types including 130 grain full metal jacket, 158 grain lead semi-wadcutter, and lead round nose projectiles. The cartridges are seated in a mix of brass and nickel-plated cases with diverse headstamps including Winchester, R-P (Remington-Peters), REM-UMC, Federal, CBC, Blazer, and Independence, identified by an asterisk and I symbol. One noteworthy cartridge in the collection is headstamped SUPER VEL 357 MAG. The cardboard packaging includes one 100-round Value Pack for 130 grain full metal jacket cartridges (catalog number USA38SPVP), one 50-round box for 158 grain lead semi-wadcutter, and one 50-round box for 130 grain full metal jacket (catalog number Q4171). Verbatim markings on the boxes include the Winchester logo, caliber designations, and a vintage dealer stamp for Trigger Hill Trading Post of Salinas, CA. Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in generally good condition, with some cartridges exhibiting surface tarnish on the brass cases and minor oxidation on the exposed lead bullet tips. This lot is a mixed assortment of factory loads and likely reloads; individual rounds should be inspected for consistency. The three Winchester factory boxes show significant signs of wear, including crushed corners, edge fraying, and small tears consistent with long-term shelf storage. The ammunition appears live, though we have not function-tested these rounds.
