Description
This is a Belgian-manufactured Browning Auto-5 semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, specifically designed for 70mm (2 3/4 inch) shells. The firearm features a 31-inch barrel constructed of special steel and is fitted with a fixed full choke. The barrel is marked BROWNING ARMS COMPANY OGDEN UTAH, MADE IN BELGIUM, and FULL 12 SPECIAL STEEL. Visible Belgian proof marks are present on the side of the barrel, including the gauge and chamber length designation 12-70 inside an oval. The left side of the receiver is engraved with FABRIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE and BROWNING’S PATENT DEPOSE. The underside of the receiver near the loading port bears the serial number 123563 above the letter A. The shotgun is configured with a checkered walnut stock and forend, featuring a traditional round-knob pistol grip and an aftermarket red rubber Western Field recoil pad. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The steel surfaces retain a thinned blued finish that displays significant wear, handling marks, and a mottled patina throughout the receiver and barrel. The walnut furniture is in used condition with numerous small dings, scratches, and moderate smoothing to the checkering. The bore shows signs of use but maintains a generally bright appearance. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually. The aftermarket Western Field recoil pad is intact and shows standard aging.
