Description
This T. Barker single-shot, break-action shotgun is a classic utility firearm featuring a 28-inch barrel, an external hammer, and a top-lever release mechanism. The barrel and receiver show a consistent worn, browned patina with visible surface oxidation throughout the metalwork. The wooden furniture, consisting of a plain buttstock and forend, exhibits substantial use with various dings, scratches, and a prominent horizontal crack on the right side of the stock adjacent to the receiver. The firearm is equipped with a small brass bead front sight and a black ribbed buttplate that is chipped at the toe. Key markings include the manufacturer name T. BARKER engraved on the left side of the receiver and the serial number 48830 D stamped on the lower tang. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a dark, browned patina with scattered surface oxidation and areas of mild pitting. The wooden stock and forend are in fair condition, showing significant wear, impact marks, and a large horizontal crack on the right side of the wrist area. The black composite buttplate is damaged with a chip missing at the bottom. The action appears to function mechanically, though the firearm has not been function-tested or live-fired. The bore condition was not inspected.
