Description
Winchester Model 12 pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, designed for general field and sport shooting. This example features a 30-inch barrel fitted with a ventilated rib and a single front bead sight, designated with a fixed full choke. The blued finish on the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube has worn significantly to a mottled gray and silver patina with numerous surface scratches throughout. The furniture consists of a checkered walnut stock and forend that exhibit extensive use with frequent dings, scratches, and smoothed-out checkering from handling. Key markings include the manufacturer’s address on the left side of the barrel: MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PAT JULY 21. 1896. / FEB. 22. JUNE 14. 1898. SEPT. 7. 1909. MAY 17. 24. 31. JUNE 7. 14. 28. JULY 5. 12. 1910. JULY 22. 1913. NOV. 25. 1919. Further barrel markings specify NICKEL STEEL – WINCHESTER – MODEL 12-12 GA. FULL along with TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN. The underside of both the receiver and the barrel assembly are stamped with the matching serial number 301464. The firearm is completed with a red rubber White Line Deluxe recoil pad, though it is currently in a state of deterioration. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
Metal surfaces show significant bluing wear, with the majority of the finish having aged into a silver and gray patina. Extensive surface scratches and small handling dings are visible on the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube. The bore was not inspected but the exterior suggests regular use. The action appears to function, although we have not function-tested this firearm. The walnut stock and forend are sound but show numerous impacts, scratches, and worn checkering consistent with heavy field use. The red rubber recoil pad is in poor condition, exhibiting severe cracking, hardening, and crumbling.
