Description
This lot consists of 100 rounds of factory-remanufactured .38 Special ammunition from the Load-X Ammunition Company of Santa Rosa, California. The ammunition is divided into two distinct projectile types and weights. One group features 148 grain Total Metal Jacket (TMJ) wadcutter projectiles seated in nickel-plated brass casings, identifiable by their copper-colored flat-nose profiles. The second group consists of 158 grain lead semi-wadcutter (SWC) projectiles loaded into standard brass casings. Prominent markings on the yellow printed manufacturer labels include LOAD-X AMMUNITION COMPANY, 38 spec. 148 gr. WC – TMJ, 38 Spec. 158 gr. SWC, and Manufactured in Santa Rosa, California. The labels provide extensive safety warnings regarding firearm condition, reloading instructions, and the use of proper hearing and eye protection.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in good, functional condition. The nickel-plated casings are bright and free of oxidation, while the brass casings on the semi-wadcutter rounds show a light, natural patina consistent with age. The lead projectiles in the 158 grain group exhibit some surface dulling and minor oxidation typical of older lead components. All projectiles appear securely seated in the case mouths. The plastic bags show some wrinkling and storage wear but remain intact.
