Description
The Sears Model 3T is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle ammunition, produced for Sears, Roebuck and Co. by Winchester as a variant of their Model 190. This rifle is equipped with a 20.5 inch blued steel barrel and an under-barrel tubular magazine for ammunition delivery. The design includes a black-finished alloy receiver and a two-piece hardwood furniture set comprising a plain forend and a pistol grip stock with a black textured plastic buttplate. Iron sights are mounted to the barrel, including a post front sight and an elevator-adjustable rear leaf sight. Verbatim markings on the left side of the barrel specify -SEARS- MOD 3T CAL 22 S, L, OR LR – SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO. – and MOD. NO. 273.2390 along with MADE IN U.S.A. A circled SP proof mark is located at the barrel and receiver junction, and the serial number 129441 is stamped on the underside of the receiver. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle shows heavy wear throughout, consistent with significant field use. The blued finish on the barrel exhibits scattered surface pitting and areas of light oxidation. The black finish on the alloy receiver shows extensive scratching, scuffing, and finish loss along the edges. The hardwood stock and forend display numerous dings, pressure marks, and scratches, with the finish showing noticeable thinning and wear. The bore is generally bright with well-defined rifling, though some lead fouling is visible. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, but we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition.
