Description
This New England Firearms Pardner Model is a single-shot break-action shotgun chambered for 20-gauge 3-inch shells. It features a 25-inch blued barrel with a fixed modified choke and a brass bead front sight. The receiver is finished with a vibrant color case-hardening and houses a traditional exposed hammer with a transfer bar safety system. The firearm is equipped with a smooth wood stock and forend, with the stock terminating in a black synthetic buttplate embossed with the H&R 1871 logo. Verbatim markings on the barrel include PARDNER ® MODEL and 20 GA. 3″ MOD. (P). The receiver is marked NEW ENGLAND FIREARMS ® MANUFACTURED IN GARDNER, MA U.S.A. U.S. PAT. NO. 3988348 with the serial number NT 342041. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good overall condition. The blued finish on the 25-inch barrel shows some areas of minor surface oxidation and light handling wear. The case-hardened finish on the receiver remains very vibrant with minimal fading. The smooth wood stock and forend exhibit minor dings and light scratches consistent with occasional field use. The bore is bright and free of visible pitting. The break-action lockup is tight, and the hammer and trigger mechanisms appear to function correctly, though we have not live-fire tested this firearm.
