Description
This is a single-shot break-action shotgun chambered in 16 gauge, designed as a straightforward and functional sporting firearm. It is equipped with a 30-inch barrel featuring a fixed choke and a brass front bead sight. The receiver utilizes an exposed hammer design with a top-lever release mechanism for opening the action. The metal surfaces display a thinning blued finish on the barrel and a mottled brown patina across the receiver. The furniture consists of a smooth wood stock and forend, finished with a black, horizontally ribbed buttplate. Key markings include the brand name NEWPORT stamped on the left side of the receiver and the model designation MODEL W N on the right side. The top of the barrel is marked 16GA CHOKE near the breech. The serial number A644940 is explicitly stamped on the lower tang. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces exhibit a thinning finish with a mottled brown patina on the receiver and scattered surface oxidation on the barrel. The bore is bright with some minor evidence of use. The action appears to function correctly, with the top lever and hammer operating as intended, though the firearm has not been function-tested. The wood furniture shows numerous dings and scratches throughout, with a notable crack present in the wrist behind the receiver. The buttplate shows standard wear consistent with the age of the piece.
