Description
This Sears Roebuck and Co. Model 6C is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for .22 L.R. only, produced in Canada and based on the reliable Cooey Model 64 action. The rifle features a 20-inch blued steel barrel and a black-finished receiver that houses a side-mounted charging handle with a sliding manual safety indicator marked SAFE. It is fitted with a fixed front blade sight and a step-adjustable rear leaf sight. The furniture consists of a one-piece hardwood stock with a semi-pistol grip and a black serrated composite buttplate. One detachable box magazine is included. Verbatim markings on the barrel include MODEL 6C – CAL. .22 L.R. ONLY – NO. 273.528131 and SEARS ROEBUCK AND CO. – MADE IN CANADA. A small IP proof mark is visible on the barrel near the receiver, and the receiver itself is stamped with the serial number TT 9825. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in good overall condition, showing evidence of moderate use and handling. The blued finish on the barrel exhibits thinning and areas of light surface oxidation, particularly toward the muzzle. The black finish on the receiver shows some wear on the edges and near the charging handle. The hardwood stock remains structurally sound but displays numerous handling marks, small dings, and surface scratches throughout the varnish. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually; however, the firearm has not been function-tested or live-fired. The magazine shows thinning finish and some light surface rust. The composite buttplate is intact with minor scuffing.
