Description
This Remington Model 11 semi-automatic shotgun is chambered in 12 gauge and features a 30-inch barrel equipped with an adjustable Poly Choke system. Based on the John Browning long-recoil design, the shotgun is configured with a checkered walnut forend and a shortened youth stock fitted with a vintage red rubber Jostam Anti-Flinch recoil pad. Key markings include the manufacturer and model designation on the left side of the receiver stamped Remington TRADE MARK MODEL 11 above the serial number 363625. The top of the receiver has been modified by being drilled and tapped with four holes for optic mounting. Barrel markings specify the manufacturer as REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., REMINGTON ILION WORKS, ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. and include a sequence of Browning patent dates from OCT. 9 1900 to FEB. 13 06, as well as 12 GA. and FULL designations. Small proof marks including a REP in an oval and an anchor symbol are present on the barrel near the receiver. The bolt is sticking and needs a cleaning to restore smooth mechanical function. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The original blued finish shows significant thinning and wear throughout, with scattered areas of surface oxidation and light pinprick pitting on the receiver and barrel. The top of the receiver has four non-factory drilled and tapped holes. The walnut furniture exhibits various dings, scratches, and finish loss, with visible longitudinal cracks present in the forend. The youth stock appears to be a factory or period modification and the Jostam recoil pad shows hardening and surface cracking consistent with age. The action is currently sluggish with the bolt sticking, indicating a need for a thorough cleaning and lubrication. The bore shows some carbon accumulation but remains generally bright.
