Description
This Winchester Model 1906 is a pump action rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges, featuring a take-down receiver and an exposed hammer. The rifle is equipped with a standard 20 inch round barrel, a tubular magazine, a fixed front blade sight, and an adjustable rear notch sight. The furniture consists of a ribbed walnut pump handle and a smooth straight-grip walnut buttstock. Key markings include the barrel address, MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PAT. JUNE 26. 88. DEC. 6. 92. NOV. 27. 06. MAY 30. 1911. —MOD. 1906—, and the caliber designation, .22 SHORT—LONG OR LONG RIFLE. The upper tang is stamped —TRADE MARK— WINCHESTER. Matching serial numbers 533202 are found on the underside of the receiver and the lower tang, with the receiver number accompanied by a B stamp. Given its current state, this firearm is being offered as a parts gun for restoration or salvage. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in poor condition, exhibiting heavy surface oxidation, deep pitting, and a complete loss of original finish across all metal components. The action is stiff and has not been function tested for safety or reliability. The bore is likely dark and pitted consistent with the exterior condition. The wood stock shows numerous deep scratches and dings, with a significant area of white adhesive residue around the wrist. The black hard rubber buttplate is cracked through the center. Additional yellow and gray tape residue is present on the muzzle end of the barrel and magazine tube.
