Description
This lot consists of two US military surplus M2A1 steel ammunition cans, used for the storage and transport of various types of ordnance. Both containers are constructed of heavy-gauge steel with an olive drab green finish and feature gasket-sealed lids with side-locking latches and top-mounted folding handles.
The first container features white stenciled markings identifying the original contents as 8 M582A1 Mechanical Time Superquick (MTSQ) fuzes in a non-propagation package. The stenciling includes lot number MA-88C008-001, indicating a 1988 manufacture date. The side panel is faintly embossed with the number 50 near the base.
The second container features yellow stenciled markings for 100 cartridges of .50 caliber M1A1 blank ammunition on M9 links. The markings include lot number LC-96F547-110, corresponding with the 1996 date and manufacturer information. This can features prominent embossed markings on the side panel including 96, M2A1, and S.C.F., identifying the manufacturer as Standard Container Fabrication.
Each can measures 11 x 7 x 6 inches.

Condition report:
Both ammunition cans are in good military surplus condition, showing signs of field use consistent with age and service. Physical wear includes surface scratches, minor paint loss, and areas of light oxidation or surface rust, particularly along the hinges, latching mechanisms, and bottom edges. The rubber gaskets appear to be intact, and the latching mechanisms remain fully functional. One container has a white plastic identification tag attached to the handle.
