Description
This Remington Model 241 Speedmaster is a semi-automatic takedown rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle. The firearm features a 24-inch round blued barrel equipped with a blade front sight and a smooth walnut forend. The takedown model design allows the barrel assembly to be easily separated from the receiver for storage or transport. Mounted to the left side of the blued steel receiver is a Weaver J4 scope with a crosshair reticle, manufactured in El Paso, Texas. The rifle is stocked in smooth walnut with a semi-pistol grip and features a tubular magazine system that loads through a port in the checkered plastic Remington-branded buttplate. Key markings on the receiver include THE SPEEDMASTER REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MODEL 241 and Remington REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. followed by the serial number 103248. The barrel is roll-marked with the manufacturer address and Browning patent dates, including 1,372,336 and 1,740,187, along with the caliber designation .22 LONG RIFLE ONLY-SMOKELESS-GREASED. While the action appears to function correctly, we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a significant portion of their original blued finish, though there is noticeable thinning and handling wear on the receiver and barrel. There is some adhesive or mounting residue visible around the side-mounted scope base. The walnut stock and forend show substantial wear consistent with field use, including numerous scratches, scuffs, and small dings throughout the finish, though no structural cracks are observed. The bore is bright with crisp rifling. The action cycles smoothly and the scope optics are clear.
