Description
This single-shot lever-action rifle is a J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Crack Shot-26 chambered in .32 caliber. The firearm features a round barrel equipped with a fixed blade front sight and a notched rear sight. The action is operated by a distinct under-lever that also functions as the trigger guard. The metal components exhibit a dark, aged patina with areas of thinning finish and light surface oxidation throughout the receiver and barrel. The two-piece wood stock and forend show a reddish-brown finish with significant signs of use, including dings, scratches, and finish wear across both sections. Important markings include the barrel address J. STEVENS ARMS & TOOL CO. CHICOPEE FALLS. MASS. U.S.A. along with Pat Appl’d For and 32-CAL near the breech. The left side of the receiver is faintly marked CRACK SHOT. Consistent with its aged condition, the barrel screw is loose and requires tightening. The action appears to function mechanically, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in fair to good condition, showing a dark brown patina and areas of surface oxidation across the metal surfaces. The finish is thinning notably at the high edges and along the barrel. The bore has not been inspected. The two-piece wood stock and forend show significant field wear with numerous dings, scratches, and finish loss but remain structurally sound. The action appears to function, however, the barrel screw is loose and requires attention. No serial number is visible.
