Description
This Savage Model 340 bolt-action rifle is chambered in .30-30 Winchester and configured with a blued finish on its metal components. The rifle features a smooth, one-piece wood pistol-grip stock and is equipped with a Dockendorff adjustable rear leaf sight along with a matching Dockendorff front ramp sight. The butt of the stock is fitted with a brown Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. Included with this lot is one detachable metal box magazine and an adjustable leather sling featuring brass hardware. Prominent markings on the receiver include SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A. MODEL 340 and PROOF TESTED CAL. 30-30. A circular SP proof mark is visible on the top of the barrel near the receiver. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued metal finish shows light thinning and scattered surface wear consistent with use. The wood stock exhibits minor dings and scratches but remains structurally sound. The action appears to function correctly, although we have not function-tested this firearm. The magazine and leather sling show age-appropriate wear.
