Description
This collection of vintage fishing tackle features two reel power handles and an assortment of artificial lures. One handle is a Deluxe Rock Cod Power Handle made of stainless steel by Woody Mfg. of Gardena, California. It remains in its original paper packaging with K mart retail stickers, which specifies compatibility with Penn reels up to 9/0, Daiwa 30H through 900H, and Shimano models. The second loose handle features a cream-colored grip with a label for Trading Post Tackle Supply California. The assortment of lures includes various spoons and spinners, including a silver-tone Mepps lure marked British Pat Made in France with the numeral 3, an Acme Tackle Co. Kastmaster spoon, and a Blue Fox Vibrax spinner with a black blade. Other lures in the group feature red-and-white stripes, hammered metal finishes, and various painted patterns including spots and motifs resembling rainbow trout, consistent with styles by makers such as Luhr Jensen and Thomas.
Condition report:
The items show signs of age and prior use. Surface oxidation is present on several hooks and metal components. The original paper packaging for the Woody Mfg. handle is stained and worn. Various lures exhibit paint loss, surface scratches, and typical wear associated with field use.
