Description
This Marlin Model 990 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle cartridges, featuring a blued steel barrel and receiver with a full-length tubular magazine. The barrel is roll-marked THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. MODEL 990 MICRO-GROOVE BARREL CAL. 22 L.R. ONLY and bears a JM proof mark near the receiver. The receiver is stamped with the serial number 21530505. The rifle is fitted with a walnut-finished hardwood stock that includes pressed checkering with diamond accents on the forend and pistol grip, a Monte Carlo-style comb, and a black plastic buttplate embossed with the Marlin name. It is equipped with an adjustable rear sight, a ramp-mounted blade front sight, and a gold-tone trigger. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows light surface wear and minor handling marks but remains largely intact. The hardwood stock exhibits several prominent scratches on the left side adjacent to the receiver and across the buttstock area, consistent with field use. The action cycles manually without obstruction. The bore was not inspected but the exterior suggests a firearm that has been well-maintained despite visible handling marks.
