Description
This lot features two vintage US military steel ammunition cans, finished in olive drab green. These containers were designed for the transport and storage of .45 caliber ammunition and feature a top-mounted folding handle and a side-mounted tension latch closure mechanism. One can retains highly legible yellow stenciled markings on the side panel reading 1000 CAL. 45 CARTRIDGES, BALL M1911, CARTONS, and LOT WRA 22689, indicating production associated with Winchester Repeating Arms. This same can is embossed with the manufacturer mark EMCO on the end face, attributed to the Edwards Manufacturing Co. The second can features the embossed letters SHT on the end face and retains faint, illegible stenciled markings on its side, along with a paper tag adhered to the lid. Both cans are constructed of heavy-gauge steel with hinged lids.

Condition report:
Both items are in good vintage condition with signs of field use. Visible wear includes surface scratches, paint loss, and areas of light surface oxidation and rust, primarily concentrated along the seams, hinges, and base. The stenciling on one can remains crisp and legible, while the markings on the second can are significantly faded. The handles and latches remain in functional working order.
