Description
This lot consists of a total of 234 cartridges of .30 Carbine (also designated as .30M1) ammunition from various manufacturers and in several projectile configurations. The collection is housed in several containers including a green plastic grid case holding 51 rounds, a black plastic tray holding 50 rounds, and a tan military-style cardboard box containing 51 rounds. This box is verbatim marked 50 CARTRIDGES CARBINE, CALIBER .30M1 AMMUNITION LOT R. A. 5125 and REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. Also included are two vintage commercial cardboard boxes: a yellow Remington UMC 30 Carbine 110 Grain Metal Case box and a green Remington Kleanbore 30 Carbine Hi-Speed box marked for 110 GRAIN SOFT POINT BULLET. The remaining 82 rounds are contained within a clear plastic zippered bag. The ammunition includes a mix of full metal jacket, soft point, and lead-nose projectiles. Observed headstamps represent both military surplus and commercial production, with markings including WCC 52, WCC 45, WRA 44, WRA 54, LC 52, LC 43, RA 53, R-P 30 CARB, REM-UMC 30 CARB, NORMA 30 CARB, FRONTIER 30 CARBINE, and PMC 30 CARBINE.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show moderate to heavy wear with fraying, edge tears, and significant staining. The ammunition cartridges exhibit varying degrees of surface oxidation and tarnishing. Some lead-nose and soft-point projectiles show visible white lead oxidation (bloom). The primers appear intact and unfired, and the ammunition is believed to be live, though it is sold for collectible or component purposes. The plastic storage cases are in good structural condition.
