Description
This is a single-shot break-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, designed for utility and field use. It features a 30-inch barrel chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells, equipped with a single silver-colored bead front sight. The metal surfaces consist of a blued barrel and a receiver exhibiting a mottled grey and brown finish with visible surface oxidation. The shotgun is fitted with a distinctive marbled brown and black synthetic Tenite stock and forend, featuring molded checkering on the wrist and foregrip areas for a secure hold. Key markings include the model designation on the left side of the receiver transcribed as J.C. HIGGINS-MODEL 101.1 SEARS, ROEBUCK & COMPANY, along with the characters – 107B – and a small oval proof mark. The barrel is roll-stamped with SELECTED FORGED STEEL and PROOF TESTED — 12 GAUGE — 2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER —. The firearm utilizes an external hammer, a single trigger, and a top-lever break-action release. The synthetic stock is finished with a black ribbed buttplate secured by a central screw. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel shows areas of thinning, moderate handling wear, and scattered light scratches. The receiver exhibits a mottled patina with surface oxidation and minor pinprick pitting consistent with age. The Tenite furniture remains structurally sound but shows significant scuffing, scratches, and a small chip at the heel of the buttplate. The bore is bright with some light frosting noted toward the chamber. The action appears to function correctly and locks up tight, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
