Description
This semi-automatic rifle is chambered for .22 caliber ammunition, specifically designed to function with .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges. The firearm features a blued steel barrel and receiver assembly paired with a full-length tubular magazine. The one-piece wood stock is finished with a high-gloss coating and includes a black plastic buttplate embossed with a squirrel and shield motif. Sights include an adjustable rear notch and a fixed front blade. Prominent barrel markings specify the manufacturer and model as SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO. SEARS PAT. NO. 3018577 and MODEL 25 583.2501. Additional barrel inscriptions state that the firearm SHOOTS ANY .22 LONG OR LONG RIFLES OR .22 SHORTS, HIGH SPEED ONLY. A small spade-shaped proof mark containing the characters FI is located on the barrel near the receiver. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The barrel and receiver retain much of their original blued finish, though light surface oxidation and wear are visible near the ejection port and on the charging handle. The high-gloss wood stock shows scattered handling marks, including scuffs, scratches, and minor dings consistent with field use. The plastic buttplate is in good condition with clear details. The action appears to function correctly upon manual cycling, but we have not function-tested this firearm.
