Description
This is a single bolt-action rimfire rifle identified by its markings as a Glenfield Model 25, manufactured by The Marlin Firearms Co. of North Haven, Connecticut. Chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges, the rifle features a blued steel barrel and receiver set into a smooth hardwood stock with a straight comb and a black plastic buttplate. The firearm is equipped with a fixed ramp front sight and a step-adjustable rear notch sight. Primary markings on the barrel read GLENFIELD MOD. 25 THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. MADE IN NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. CAL. 22 S. L. & L.R. and include a JM proof mark near the receiver. The serial number 18639817 is stamped on the left side of the receiver, and the receiver top features a grooved rail for optic mounting. The safety lever is marked with FIRE and SAFE indicators. This firearm is missing its detachable box magazine. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows significant and widespread surface oxidation and pitting throughout. The hardwood stock exhibits minor handling wear, including small dings and superficial scratches, but is free of cracks. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested or test-fired this firearm. The bore was not inspected. The rifle is offered as-is, lacking a magazine.
