Description
This lot consists of a pair of Peerless Handcuff Company Model 700 chain link handcuffs, complete with the original retail packaging. The handcuffs are manufactured from nickel-plated steel and feature a swing-through design with a double-locking mechanism. Each cuff is connected by a two-link chain. One cuff is stamped on the body with PEERLESS HANDCUFF CO. SPRINGFIELD MA and the serial number 472972. The opposite cuff is stamped MADE IN USA PATENTED and the serial number 398200. The set is housed in its original blue and maroon cardboard retail box which identifies the contents as NIJ Type 3 Chain Link Handcuffs and references the company’s 100th anniversary (1914-2014).
Condition report:
The handcuffs are in excellent, potentially unused condition with a bright nickel finish and no visible rust or significant surface wear. It is noted that the serial numbers on the two cuffs do not match. The original retail box shows light shelf wear, including minor fraying and creasing at the corners and along the edges.
