Description
This lot consists of 45 rounds of 12 gauge shotgun ammunition from Winchester and Remington distributed across nine individual five-count boxes. The collection includes three boxes of Winchester Super-X 2 3/4-inch #4 buckshot (model XB124) containing 27 unplated pellets per shell, and two brown Olin Corporation boxes containing five cartridges each of 12 gauge #00 buckshot. Remington products comprise the remainder of the lot with two boxes of Slugger 3-inch Magnum 1-ounce rifled slugs, one box of Express Buckshot 3-inch Magnum #000 buckshot with 10 pellets, and one box of Express Buckshot 2 3/4-inch #00 buckshot with 9 pellets. Verbatim markings on the Winchester boxes include XB124, 12 GA. 2 3/4 IN. 4 BUCK (27 PELLETS), and SUPER-X, while the shells themselves are marked WINCHESTER on the brass headstamps and 4B on the red plastic hulls. The Remington packaging is marked Slugger 3 in. Magnum Rifled Slug, 1 oz. Magnum Rifled Slug, Express Buckshot 3 INCH MAGNUM, and 12 GA. 2 3/4 IN. 00 BK. Remington shells feature headstamps marked REMINGTON-PETERS and hulls printed with 3 IN MAG 000 BUCK. The Olin boxes specify 5 CARTRIDGES 12 GA SHOTSHELL NO. 00 BUCKSHOT and OLIN CORPORATION, containing olive-drab hulls marked 00 9.
Condition report:
The Winchester Super-X and Remington ammunition boxes show typical shelf wear, edge fraying, and various retail price stickers. The plastic shells within these boxes appear well-preserved with bright metal bases and clear factory markings. Conversely, the two brown Olin Corporation boxes exhibit staining and significant age-related wear. Internal inspection of the Olin cartridges reveals substantial oxidation and heavy corrosion on the metal bases of the olive-drab plastic hulls, with some particulate matter present within the crimped ends. All shells appear live and unspent.
