Description
A group of three vintage conventional saltwater fishing reels manufactured in the United States. The collection consists of two Penn Long Beach models and one reel from the Jalove Reel Company. The first Penn reel is a No. 66 model featuring black side plates and a chrome-plated metal frame, currently spooled with monofilament line and featuring an attached rod clamp with wing nuts. The side plate is stamped Penn Long Beach No. 66 Made in U.S.A. The second Penn reel is a No. 65 model with a cream-colored plastic handle knob and a partial original adhesive capacity label on the side plate, marked Penn Long Beach 65 Made in U.S.A. The third component is a Jalove Reel Company Model No. 320L, identified on the mounting foot as being produced in Bronson, Michigan, with a capacity of 200 yards. All three reels are constructed with black composition side plates, chrome-plated metal frames and spools, and integrated star drag systems.
Condition report:
The reels exhibit varying degrees of age-related wear. The Penn No. 66 shows significant surface pitting and corrosion on the chrome-plated components. The Penn No. 65 and the Jalove reel show moderate surface scratching and light oxidation to the metal surfaces. All reels appear largely complete with original handles and mounting feet.
