Description
A collection of 8 Raised handgun Ribs manufactured by The Poly-Choke Co., Inc. of Hartford, Connecticut. These vintage firearm accessories are designed for self-installation to provide a raised sighting plane on several popular handgun models. The lot features ribs for specific applications, including the Smith & Wesson K Frame (4″), Ruger Security Six (6″), Ruger Blackhawk (6 1/2″), and Ruger Mark I and II pistols with 5 1/2″ bull barrels. Each kit is constructed of dark finished metal and is housed in its original period packaging, comprising both cardboard slip-top boxes and clear plastic-fronted cases with protective yellow foam inserts. The packaging features instructional text, patent numbers 3,556,889 and 195,340, and original manufacturer branding.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear to the exterior packaging. Notable signs of wear include tape residue, scuffed edges on cardboard boxes, and some discoloration of the side labels. The interior yellow foam inserts within the plastic cases show significant yellowing and characteristic degradation from age. The metal components appear to be in unused condition within their original containers.
