Description
This is a single Winchester Model 70 bolt-action rifle chambered in .270 Win, featuring a synthetic stock and a full-coverage camouflage paint finish in a streaky tan, green, and black grass-like pattern. The rifle is equipped with the Winchester-Browning Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System (BOSS), which includes an adjustable, ported muzzle device designed to tune barrel harmonics for improved accuracy. A black Picatinny-style optics rail is mounted to the receiver for the addition of a scope. The synthetic furniture includes molded checkering on the grip and forend, a Winchester-branded rubber recoil pad, and a padded camouflage sling attached to integrated sling swivels. Key markings include the barrel designation WINCHESTER® MODEL 70 270 WIN. — MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. — and — CLASSIC SM BOSS — PATENT NUMBER 5379195 —. The serial number G10160 is clearly stamped on the right side of the receiver. The bolt handle and various hardware have been finished to match the overall camouflage theme. Condition report:
The rifle is in good overall condition, showing signs of moderate field use. The camouflage paint finish exhibits significant wear, with numerous scratches, chips, and scuffs on the receiver, barrel, and particularly the bolt handle and BOSS device. Minor surface oxidation is present within the ports of the BOSS muzzle device and on the unpainted surfaces of the bolt body. The synthetic stock remains sound with minor surface abrasions consistent with field wear. While the bore has not been internally inspected, the action appears to function correctly. The padded sling shows light wear but remains fully serviceable.
