Description
This is a Remington Model 870 Wingmaster pump-action shotgun chambered for 12-gauge 2 3/4 inch or shorter shells. It is equipped with a 28-inch barrel featuring a fixed modified choke and a serrated top rib terminating in a single silver-tone front bead sight. The firearm is constructed with a blued steel receiver and barrel, complemented by a checkered walnut stock and a matching forend with diamond-pattern checkering. The stock is fitted with a black synthetic Remington brand buttplate. Key markings on the right side of the receiver include Remington positioned above the serial number 57303V, with Wingmaster MODEL 870 engraved towards the rear. The right side of the barrel is marked REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. followed by PATENT NO. 2,039,814 OTHERS PENDING and an REP proof mark within an oval. The left side of the barrel specifies 12 GA. FOR 2 3/4 OR SHORTER SHELLS along with the choke designation MOD and secondary stamps reading L E W W and a matching serial number. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The steel surfaces retain much of their original blued finish, with visible thinning and wear at the muzzle, the edges of the receiver, and along the magazine tube from the cycling of the action. Minor surface oxidation and light freckling are present on the exterior of the barrel. The walnut furniture exhibits numerous scratches, dings, and surface abrasions consistent with moderate field use, though no cracks are visible. The bore is bright and appears to be in good condition. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually, but we have not function-tested this firearm.
