Description
This is a Marlin Model 783 bolt-action rifle chambered for the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22 WMR) cartridge. The rifle is equipped with a 22-inch blued steel Micro-Groove barrel and an under-barrel tubular magazine. The receiver is finished in a polished blue and features a side-mounted safety with markings for Fire and Safe, and a bolt with a round knob. The firearm is mounted in a checkered walnut stock characterized by a Monte Carlo comb and finished with a black composite buttplate embossed with the Marlin brand logo. Sighting is provided by a ramped front sight post and an adjustable elevator rear leaf sight. Sling swivel studs are factory installed on the underside of the forend and buttstock. Key markings on the left side of the barrel specify THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. MOD. 783 — MICRO-GROOVE BARREL — CAL. 22 WMR ONLY. The serial number 12654196 is clearly stamped on the left side of the receiver. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in very good overall condition. The blued finish on the barrel and receiver remains deep and consistent with only minor handling wear and no significant pitting or corrosion. The walnut stock is well-preserved, showing sharp checkering and minimal dings or scratches to the wood. The black composite buttplate and sling swivel studs are intact. The action appears to function correctly and the sights are properly aligned. The bore was not inspected internally but the exterior suggests careful maintenance.
