Description
This single Browning Auto-5 semi-automatic shotgun is chambered in 16 gauge for 2-9/16 inch shells. It is configured with a 25.5-inch barrel featuring a ventilated rib and a Hartford, Connecticut-marked Poly-Choke adjustable muzzle device with a brass bead front sight. Key markings on the barrel include BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST. LOUIS MO and SPECIAL STEEL-16 GAUGE-SHELLS 2 9/16. The blued receiver displays standard scroll engraving and the Browning bust trade mark. The serial number 113682 is stamped on the underside of the receiver, accompanied by an FN in an oval proof mark, indicating manufacture by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium. The firearm is fitted with a checkered walnut stock and forend, ending in an FN-branded hard rubber buttplate marked BROWNING AUTOMATIC. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The original blued finish shows significant wear throughout, having aged to a grey-brown patina with areas of light surface oxidation present on the receiver and bolt. The checkered wood furniture displays heavy field use, with numerous scratches and a prominent longitudinal crack through the checkered area on the underside of the forend. The action appears to function mechanically, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
