Description
This lot features a total of 95 rounds of centerfire rifle ammunition in two distinct calibers, .22 Hornet and the wildcat .22 K-Hornet, presented in two plastic reloading cases. One group consists of ammunition identified as .22 K-Hornet, characterized by the sharp shoulder typical of this wildcat chambering, and is housed in a blue Dillon Precision flip-top case. These rounds are loaded with jacketed soft-point projectiles in bright brass cases. The second group is held in a clear frosted plastic flip-top box and contains .22 Hornet cartridges fitted with red polymer-tipped projectiles. Key markings include headstamps transcribed as W-W SUPER 22 HORNET and FRONTIER on the .22 Hornet brass, while the blue case lid is handwritten .22K HORNET. Based on the variation in case brands and the presence of wildcat cartridges, these items appear to be handloads.
Condition report:
The ammunition shows varying degrees of condition. The rounds in the blue case feature bright brass with minimal surface wear. The cartridges in the clear plastic box exhibit significant oxidation, tarnish, and green verdigris on the brass cases. All primers appear to be seated and intact. As these appear to be handloads, they are sold for components or as collector items only; they have not been tested and their performance or safety is not guaranteed. The plastic storage boxes show minor scuffs and handling marks but remain functional.
