Description
This lot consists of two US military issue M2A1 steel ammunition containers, commonly known as ammo cans. These containers are constructed of heavy-gauge steel with a standard olive drab finish and feature top-loading lids with rubber gaskets and tension-latch closures. The first container is stenciled with markings indicating it originally held 100 rounds of linked .50 caliber ammunition in a 4-to-1 mix of M8 Armor Piercing Incendiary (API) and M20 Armor Piercing Incendiary Tracer (APIT) rounds. The lot number SL L-106271 indicates ammunition produced at the St. Louis Ordnance Plant. The second container features stenciled markings for 100 rounds of .50 caliber cartridges on M9 links with the same API/APIT ammunition mix. The lot number LC-93D621L501 identifies production at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, with the 93 likely representing a 1993 ammunition production date. The end of the second container is embossed with 92 M2A1 S.C.F., signifying the container model and a 1992 manufacturing date. Both cans include collapsible metal carry handles.

Condition report:
Both containers are in used military surplus condition. The steel bodies show typical signs of field use including surface scratches, minor paint loss, and small areas of surface oxidation and rust, most notably around the hinges, latches, and bottom edges. One container has a small yellow paint mark on the side. The rubber gaskets appear to be intact and the latches and handles remain fully functional.
