Description
This Marlin Model 100 is a single-shot bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle cartridges, designed as a simple and reliable utility or training firearm. The rifle features a round barrel with a blued finish and a corresponding blued receiver. The bolt assembly includes a polished steel handle and a characteristic rear-mounted cocking knob that must be manually drawn back to prime the action for firing. The wood furniture consists of a one-piece stock with a semi-pistol grip and a smooth forend, featuring a distinct arrow-shaped marking on the right side of the buttstock. Sighting is provided by a fixed front blade and an elevator-adjustable rear notch sight mounted to the barrel. The stock is capped with a black polymer buttplate secured by two Phillips head screws. Prominent markings on the barrel include The Marlin Firearms Co. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. – EST. 1870 and MODEL 100 – 22 CAL. – S – L – LR. This is a single-shot configuration that requires manual loading of each round directly into the chamber. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces show a mostly intact but thinning blued finish, with scattered areas of minor surface oxidation and light handling scratches primarily along the barrel and receiver. The wood stock is in fair used condition, exhibiting numerous scuffs, scratches, and dings consistent with field use, though it remains structurally sound with no visible cracks. The bore was not internally inspected, but the muzzle crown shows typical wear. The bolt action and manual cocking mechanism appear to function correctly when cycled, although the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The black polymer buttplate shows significant surface wear and scuffing.
