Description
This lot features 100 rounds of centerfire rifle ammunition manufactured by Federal under the American Eagle line, chambered in 7.62x39mm Soviet. The ammunition is configured with 124-grain metal case bullets, which are full metal jacket projectiles, seated in reloadable brass casings with Boxer primers. The collection is comprised of five original cardboard boxes, each containing 20 cartridges organized within two red plastic ten-round carriers marked FEDERAL. Verbatim markings on the box fronts include AMERICAN EAGLE, 20 RIFLE CARTRIDGES, and 20 CARTOUCHES alongside a stylized eagle head logo. The end flaps are marked AMERICAN, 7.62 X 39mm SOVIET, 124 GR. METAL CASE BULLET, and NO. A76239A. Verbatim headstamps on the cartridges are transcribed as F C and 7.62 x 39. Each of the five boxes retains a vintage orange price sticker from Sportsmen’s Supply with the number 565394 and a price of $7.99.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in clean, live condition with no signs of corrosion, oxidation, or verdigris on the brass cases or copper-jacketed bullets. Primers are properly seated and show no signs of tampering. The original cardboard packaging shows moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including scuffed edges, corner dings, and surface abrasions. One box displays more pronounced finish loss on the blue graphic section of the front face. The internal red plastic cartridge carriers are intact and remain in good structural condition.
