Description
This is a Marlin Model 25M bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22 W.M.R.), intended for small game hunting and precision rimfire shooting. The rifle features a 22-inch blued barrel and receiver, providing a classic aesthetic and durable finish. Prominent barrel markings include MOD. 25M THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. MADE IN NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. CAL. 22 W.M.R. ONLY along with a JM proof mark in an oval on the left side near the receiver. The serial number 16728986 is clearly stamped on the left side of the receiver. The firearm is equipped with a smooth wood stock featuring a semi-pistol grip and two sling swivels. For sighting, the rifle retains its fixed front blade and adjustable rear leaf sights, while also being outfitted with a Bushnell Banner riflescope secured by Weaver rings. The assembly is completed with a black synthetic buttplate and includes one detachable box magazine. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows minor surface wear, light scratches, and some faint speckling/oxidation consistent with field use. The wood stock is in good condition, exhibiting light handling marks and a few minor dings, but no cracks or significant damage. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The bolt action and trigger appear to function correctly, although the rifle has not been function-tested with live ammunition. Light oxidation is visible on the buttplate screws. The Bushnell scope optics are clear and the reticle is intact.
