Description
This lot comprises three United States military surplus ammunition containers, designated as the M19A1 model, intended for 7.62mm NATO or .30 caliber ammunition storage. Each box is constructed from carbon steel with an Olive Drab (OD) green finish. The design features a hinged lid with a top carrying handle and a side-mounted tension clamp for secure closure. Each can contains a rubber gasket within the lid to provide an airtight and watertight seal.
Visible embossed markings on the end of each can identify the manufacturer as S.C.F. (Southern Can Fillers) and specify the M19A1 model designation. The embossed numbers indicate manufacture dates of 1998, 2011, and 2013 respectively. One can features red stenciled markings reading EMPTY. Another can retains original yellow stenciled markings for 200 cartridges of 7.62mm NATO M80 ball ammunition in cartons with M13 links, including a lot number prefix LC indicating production at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 2011.
Each can measures 10 x 7 x 4 inches.
Condition report:
These items are in used military surplus condition. The 1998 dated can shows significant tan or sand-colored paint overspray on one side and the back. All three cans exhibit typical field wear, including surface scratches, scuffs, and small areas of oxidation or surface rust, primarily along the edges and hinges. The metal handles and tension latches remain functional. Rubber gaskets are present in all lids, though airtight integrity is not guaranteed.
