Description
This Remington Model 11 is a recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 gauge and based on John Browning’s iconic design. It features a 28-inch barrel with a single brass bead front sight and is marked FULL near the receiver. Key markings include the model designation MODEL 11 followed by the manufacturer’s address THE REMINGTON ARMS UNION METALLIC CTG. CO., INC. REMINGTON ILION WKS. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A. and patent dates ranging from October 9, 1900, to June 16, 1903. The receiver tang is roll-stamped with Remington and the REMINGTON UMC trademark within a circle. The serial number 216335 is clearly stamped on the underside of the receiver forward of the loading port. The shotgun is equipped with a two-piece wooden stock and forend, with the buttstock terminating in an aftermarket weathered orange rubber recoil pad that has been secured using several small nails. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces exhibit a heavy grayish-brown patina with widespread surface oxidation and pitting across the receiver and the length of the barrel. The bore was not inspected, but the external condition suggests significant field use. The two-piece wooden furniture shows numerous scratches, deep dings, and minor losses to the wood finish, particularly at the forend. The aftermarket orange rubber recoil pad is heavily weathered and crudely attached with nails. The action appears to cycle, but the firearm has not been function-tested or test-fired.
