Description
This is a single Benjamin Franklin Model 250 multi-pump pneumatic bolt-action air pistol chambered for .177 caliber pellets. The pistol features a black finished brass main compression tube and barrel assembly. Key markings include the model designation and manufacturer on the rear end cap, which is stamped BENJAMIN AIR RIFLE CO. ST. LOUIS U.S.A. around a central 250. The left side of the main compression tube is stamped verbatim BENJAMIN FRANKLIN MADE IN U.S.A. The design utilizes a knurled front cap on a pump rod that extends from the front of the main tube to build air pressure for firing. The pistol is fitted with two-piece smooth wood grips secured by a single screw on each side. The sighting system consists of a fixed front blade sight and a screw-adjustable rear notch sight mounted to the top of the barrel. Single-shot loading is achieved via a rear-cocking bolt-action mechanism. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The air pistol is in fair to good condition, exhibiting significant finish thinning and wear consistent with regular use. The black finish on the brass barrel and compression tube has worn through to the base metal at the muzzle, the forward pump tube, and along the high edges. There are various surface scratches and areas of light oxidation across the metal surfaces. The smooth wood grips show numerous small dings and shallow scratches but remain structurally sound. The bore appears dark with typical lead residue. The bolt-action and trigger mechanisms appear to function correctly; however, the internal seals have not been tested for their ability to hold pressure and we have not function-tested this firearm.
