Description
This is a Belgian-made Browning Auto-5 semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 12-gauge, 2-3/4 inch shells. It features a 27.5 inch plain barrel constructed of special steel with a full choke, indicated by an asterisk marking. The blued receiver is decorated with factory scrollwork engraving and a small profile portrait on the left side. The firearm is fitted with a checkered wood stock and forend, and it has been modified with the addition of a Pachmayr White Line rubber recoil pad. A single bead front sight is mounted at the muzzle. Verbatim barrel markings include BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo, MADE IN BELGIUM, and SPECIAL STEEL – 12 GA. – SHELLS 2 3/4 inch. Several Belgian proof marks are visible near the breech. The receiver is marked BROWNING above the portrait, and the underside of the receiver is stamped with the serial number H 44420. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows significant thinning, high-edge wear, and areas of light surface oxidation and peppering. The bore is mostly bright with some evidence of light frosting. The checkered wood furniture exhibits numerous dings, scratches, and finish wear from field use, including a prominent horizontal crack on the right side of the forend. The added Pachmayr recoil pad is intact but shows some compression and age. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition.
