Description
This lot consists of 300 spent ammunition shell casings in .44 Remington Magnum caliber. The collection is comprised of 150 brass casings and 150 nickel-plated brass casings. Visual inspection of the headstamps confirms various manufacturers. Representative brass specimens are stamped MIDWAY and 44 REM MAG. Representative nickel-plated specimens are stamped R – P and 44 REM MAG. The nickel-plated casings exhibit a purple-colored residue, likely a lacquer sealant, within the stamped lettering of the headstamps. These are fired cartridge cases featuring open primer pockets or spent primers. The items are presented in an unprocessed state as recovered after discharge.
Condition report:
The shell casings are in fired, once-used condition. Physical characteristics include varying degrees of surface oxidation, carbon fouling, and typical brass tarnishing. The nickel-plating on those specimens shows minor surface wear. All items appear structurally sound for reloading purposes but will require standard cleaning, depriming, and resizing.
