Description
This Thompson/Center Impact SB is a break-open action muzzleloading rifle chambered in .50 caliber designed for hunting and sporting use. It features a 26 inch barrel with a blued finish and an under-barrel channel housing a knurled aluminum ramrod. The receiver and barrel assembly are mounted to a durable black polymer stock with a textured grip and forend, featuring an embossed TC logo on the buttstock and a rubber recoil pad. Key markings include the manufacturer and caliber designation on the right side of the barrel reading THOMPSON/CENTER SPRINGFIELD, MA. USA .50 CAL. while the left side is engraved with safety warnings stating LOAD ONLY BLACK POWDER OR AN APPROVED BLACK POWDER SUBSTITUTE. NEVER USE SMOKELESS POWDER. READ SAFETY & INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USE. The receiver is marked with the serial number VDY7612 and a data matrix code. The rifle is equipped with Williams fiber-optic open sights consisting of a green front and red rear element, supplemented by a Cabela’s Muzzleloader 3-9×40 scope mounted on a one-piece base. The lot includes a black and orange Gun Guard hard plastic case, scope lens covers, and the original manufacturer’s manual. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The barrel and receiver retain a high percentage of their original blued finish with some minor scuffs and surface scratches visible along the length of the barrel. The polymer stock is in good condition showing typical cosmetic wear and scuffing from field use, including a notable scuff mark on the right side of the forend. The bore is not visually inspectable but the external muzzle crown appears clean. The break-open action and trigger appear to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live propellant. The optics are clear with a functional BDC-style reticle.
