Gun Collectors Dream Auction #79 Weapons of War
Lot 1511:
Sold for: $1,000
Description
A 1923 American Eagle Luger pistol of early 20th-century style, featuring a distinctive toggle-lock action and an extended barrel. Chambered for .30 Luger. Constructed of blued steel with checkered wooden grip panels. Visible markings include “MADE IN GERMANY” on the barrel, an emblem resembling the Great Seal of the United States on the forward toggle link, and the serial number “90095” with “GERMANY” beneath it on the frame. A “SAFE” marking is present near the safety lever, along with a crown over “N”proof mark. The pistol is accompanied by a soft brown case and a metal magazine with a wooden base.
Condition report:
The pistol shows considerable wear to its blued finish and grips, consistent with significant age and use. The bluing is largely worn, particularly on high points and edges, revealing underlying metal. The wooden grips exhibit wear, scuffs, and some loss of original texture. The accompanying soft brown case and metal magazine also show signs of age and use.
