Description

An Imperial Russian Model 1870 Berdan II bolt-action military rifle, produced by the Tula Arms Factory in 1882. The rifle is constructed of a dark-stained wooden full stock and fore-end with blued steel components, including the barrel, receiver, and action. The barrel is prominently marked “ИМПЕРАТОРСКІЙ ТУЛЬСКІЙ ОРУЖЕЙНЫЙ ЗАВ 1882”, which translates to “IMPERIAL TULA ARMS FACTORY 1882”. Further numerical markings include “B3.3366” and “I 8405” on the receiver, “2661” on the bolt, and “1565” on the metal buttplate. Various Cyrillic proof marks are present. The rifle features an adjustable rear sight numbered 1 through 5, a prominent bolt handle, a trigger guard with a sling swivel, two steel barrel bands, a bayonet lug, and a cleaning rod beneath the barrel. This model is typically chambered in 10.75x58R Berdan.

Condition report:

Overall condition is consistent with an antique, well-used military firearm. The wooden stock displays significant wear, numerous dents, and scratches. Metal components show a heavily worn patina with areas of surface pitting. The serial numbers on the receiver, bolt, and buttplate are non-matching.
