Description

A US Military Batty Peace Powder Flask, dating to the Mexican-Civil War era. This heavily patinated copper or brass powder flask features a flattened teardrop form with an adjustable powder measure at the top and two rings fitted with a worn leather cord. The body is extensively embossed with nationalistic motifs, including a federal eagle, clasped hands, and a prominent shield bearing the letters “US” (United States), all surrounded by stars and military insignia such as crossed flags and what appear to be cannons.

Condition report:

The item displays considerable surface wear, scratches, minor dents, and a deep, aged dark brown and greenish patina consistent with its material and age. The leather cord is worn.
