Gun Collectors Dream Auction #79 Weapons of War
Lot 94:
Sold for: $250
Description
A Vietnam War Era North Vietnamese Army (NVA) or Vietcong (VC) brass bugle with an attached swallowtail pennant. The bugle exhibits a heavily tarnished and patinated finish, consistent with significant field use. Faint, partially legible engravings on the bell include “A PARIS” and “BREVETE,” indicating a French origin for the instrument. The pennant is made of faded textile, divided vertically with an orange section on the left and a light blue section on the right. A prominent yellow five-pointed star is centered at the junction of the two colors. The pennant is secured to the bugle with two worn orange fabric ties.
Condition report:
The brass bugle shows heavy tarnishing and patination throughout. Noticeable dents are present on the bell and tubing. The pennant exhibits creasing, fraying along its red-stitched edges, and general fading and signs of age and use.
