Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 1286:
Sold for: $85
Description
This lot consists of three high-quality detachable box magazines designed for the M1911 platform, chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. The magazines are constructed of stainless or satin bright metal. Two magazines are manufactured by Ed Brown, featuring the stylized “Ed Brown” signature logo engraved on the body above the caliber marking. These two magazines utilize black polymer extended basepads marked “EB” and include internal metal baseplates stamped “PATENTED 6,560,907.” The third magazine is marked with a stylized “SW” logo (likely Smith & Wesson) above the “.45 ACP” caliber marking. Its bare metal baseplate is engraved “CHECK-MATE” with a knight’s head logo and the letter “S,” indicating manufacture by Check-Mate, a known supplier of quality 1911 magazines. This collection is suitable for use with full-size 1911 pistols, such as those manufactured by Dan Weston, in .45 caliber. All magazines feature witness holes along the side to indicate capacity. No firearms or ammunition are included in this lot.
Condition report:
The die component is in good, used condition. The dark finish shows minor wear and light discoloration consistent with having been mounted in a press and used for reloading operations. The bright steel locking ring and adjustment cap are intact. The original translucent red polymer storage case is structurally sound but shows residue from clear adhesive tape across the front label, obscuring some of the printed text. This item is a reloading accessory and not a firearm. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
