This is a Springfield J. Stevens Arms Company Model 84C bolt-action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle ammunition. The rifle features a blued finish and is mounted in a medium-toned hardwood stock. Markings on the barrel clearly identify the firearm: SPRINGFIELD J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A. MODEL 84C .22 SHORT LONG OR LONG RIFLE. The rifle is configured as a detachable magazine repeater, though the required magazine is absent. It is currently fitted with a Tasco 3-9×40 variable power scope mounted via rings on the receiver. The hardwood stock shows numerous scratches, dings, and handling marks throughout, but remains structurally sound. The action appears to function correctly when cycled manually. The attached Tasco optic is clear, though its functionality has not been tested. The rifle is missing its detachable magazine.
