Description

This is a vintage hand-cranked meat grinder or food chopper produced for the Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis, Missouri, under the Keen Kutter brand name. The tool is constructed of cast metal, likely tinned iron or steel, and features an integrated table-mount screw clamp. The main housing displays a cast six-pointed star logo containing the text KEEN KUTTER, NO. 357, and ST. LOUIS. The flared base is cast with 10 X on one side and PAT. PEND. on the reverse. The assembly includes the main body, internal auger, front cutting plate, locking nut, and a crank handle with a black-finished turned wood or composite knob. This model was distributed during the early to mid-20th century.

Condition report:

The item is in fair vintage condition. There is significant surface oxidation, pitting, and a heavy patina across the metal surfaces consistent with age and domestic use. The mechanical components, including the crank and mounting screw, appear functional. The tool is sold as a collectible and has not been tested for food safety or preparation.
