Description
This lot consists of a trio of 16 oz. (1 lb) metal cans of GOEX black rifle powder, specifically the Cartridge grade, providing 3 LBS Total of propellant. These rectangular cans are designed for use in black powder metallic cartridge rifles and feature the traditional red and black labeling associated with the Minden, Louisiana production facility. Key markings on the front include GOEX Black Rifle POWDER and CARTRIDGE along with the tagline American-Made Since 1912. The reverse of each can is extensively marked with safety and handling precautions, stating the product is Suitable for Black Powder Metallic Cartridge Rifles and was Manufactured by GOEX, Inc. (LAAP) – HWY. 80, GATE 4, AREA G – MINDEN, LA 71055. Each container is fitted with its original black screw-on cap. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The metal cans show signs of age and shelf wear, including surface scratches and minor indentations to the bodies. There is visible oxidation and light rust concentrated along the bottom seams and top shoulders of all three containers. The paper labels remain largely intact with some light scuffing and fading consistent with age. The caps are secure, and the cans appear to be in their original, unopened state, though the chemical stability of the vintage powder has not been tested.
